How to Make Huevos Rancheros?

La receta Mexicana para ti si quieres hacer huevos rancheros.

I'm kidding. I obviously won't jot down the best Mexican huevo rancheros recipe.

This was a trial run for both you and me.

Huevos Rancheros:

Why is this Mexican dish so popular in America, NYC, and Dyckman Washington Heights? We can tell that this receta Mexican is popular amongst the working class people who are restaurant workers, cleaners, and the backbone of our society.

Huevos Rancheros originated among ranchers; they were still common in Mexico until the 1950s. Cities slowly began to grow which let people leave rural areas in large numbers, taking with them traditions and recipes. Maybe Huevos Rancheros was one of those recipes.

Our other guess at Los Jarritos Taqueria is that the spice to bean ratio is so perfect that it gives people enough of a kick in their mouths without obliterating their taste buds.

Let's learn to make them!


The salsa:

large tomatoes
  • medium white onions

  • serrano peppers

  • clove garlic

  • salt

  • fresh ground black pepper

  • vegetable oil

The tortillas:

  • Maseca arina (or buy them at our store in Dyckman)

    • We make the masa de tortilla (flour) fresh

  • corn tortillas

    • Tortillas de maiz are healthy alternatives that are high in vitamins and fiber

To assemble: (It ideally would resemble the below)

  • 4 large eggs

  • refried Mexican beans (canned or homemade)

  • Put them on the tortilla or wrap them similar to a burrito Mexicano
